When trans folks are given the space and support to be themselves, they do better. That should be obvious, but it’s great to see another study showing that - especially one focused specifically on the benefits of social transitioning specifically (rather than just looking at medical interventions) for trans youth.
I can attribute a lot of my own success and well-being as a trans person to the fact that I receive a lot of support from my spouse/family/friends. And the more I’ve been able to openly be myself in more of my life, the less (and less intensely) I’ve experienced dysphoria/guilt/anxiety/depression around my gender identity. Everyone deserves that, and I hope that this kind of support becomes the norm. Studies like this will only help.
